When you run a speed test, we collect:

• Test results (download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter)
• IP address and approximate location derived from it
• ISP (Internet Service Provider) and ASN information
• Browser type, operating system, and device platform
• Connection type (when available via browser API)
• GPS coordinates (only if you explicitly grant permission, rounded to 2 decimal places for privacy)

2. Legal Basis (LGPD / GDPR)

We process your data based on:

• Legitimate interest: IP-based data is collected to provide accurate test results and generate aggregate network statistics
• Explicit consent: GPS location is only collected with your permission via the browser prompt

Under Brazil's LGPD (Lei Geral de Protecao de Dados) and the EU's GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.

3. How We Use Information

Data collected is used to: provide accurate test results, generate aggregate network performance statistics, rank ISP performance by region, improve our testing methodology, and maintain platform reliability. We do not sell individual personal data to third parties. Aggregate, anonymized statistics may be shared publicly or with partners.

4. Cookies

Speedum uses localStorage to remember your consent preference. No advertising or tracking cookies are used beyond Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data Retention

Test results are stored in our database. Individual test data is retained for up to 12 months for service improvement and aggregate analysis, then automatically deleted.

6. Third-Party Services

Speed tests connect to Cloudflare's network for measurement. Google Analytics is used for traffic analysis. These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

Under LGPD and GDPR you have the right to: access your data, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent at any time, and data portability. Contact us at privacy@speedum.net.

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
